The course includes lectures, interactive case study presentations and a hands-on scanning session. Program topics include a brief history of endovascular stent development, national and international research studies, preoperative and postoperative noninvasive vascular testing protocols and diagnostic criteria with case study correlations including DSA angiography, CTA and MRA. This course includes protocols and diagnostic criteria for abdominal aortic stent grafts, lower and upper extremity arterial stents, peripheral venous stents, carotid artery stents, renal and mesenteric stents, and porto-systemic shunts (TIPS). This course also includes information on the diagnostic criteria used in the diagnosis of stent complications. Currency: USDCourse objectives: Upon successful completion of this program, you should be able to: Demonstrate knowledge of the anatomy and pathophysiology of different stents into performing the examinations. Demonstrate the knowledge of the duplex sonography protocols and techniques for different types of vascular stenting Demonstrate the understanding of the anatomy and pathophysiology of different abdominal visceral, peripheral and extracranial cerebral vascular disease. Communicate the knowledge of preoperative and postoperative noninvasive vascular testing protocols and diagnostic criteria of different types of arterial occlusive disease and stent grafts. Explain normal from abnormal findings and correctly interpret acquired data using B-mode, color and spectral Doppler imaging moralities. Increase confidence to incorporate protocols, techniques and interpretation criteria to improve the accuracy of diagnostic and disease management. Demonstrate the knowledge of the diagnostic criteria used in the diagnosis of stent complication such as abdominal aortic stent endoleak, stent migration, in-stent re-stenosis and stent fracture. Incorporate protocols, techniques and interpretation criteria to improve diagnostic and treatment accuracy.
