This class will review fundamental two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiographic views for the qualitative assessment of normal and pathological mitral valve echo-anatomy and function. Doppler techniques commonly used in the quantitative assessment of mitral regurgitation and mitral stenosis will also be reviewed along with the clinical applications of echocardiography.
